Daily brushing can help your teeth stay healthy and white. Brushing your teeth goes hand-and-hand with flossing, which works together for a healthy and beautiful outcome. However, there are many things you should know about brushing to make sure you are doing it correctly.
Our dentist, Dr. Richard J. Gawarzewski with Richard J. Gawarzewski DMD, PA in Berlin, New Jersey, cares about your oral health and wants you to avoid the harmful things that can happen if you neglect your oral health care. That is why we are happy to provide you with information on brushing, so you can keep your teeth healthy.
Here are some brushing tips and tricks for you to apply in your life:
-Although most individuals use a toothbrush only to clean their teeth, it can also be used to cleanse your gums and your tongue gently. Bacteria often settles on the back of your tongue, so clean it off with a brush or a tongue scraper.
-Try to brush at a 45-degree angle so you can gently whisk away debris and germs on your enamel.
-To avoid enamel abrasion, never press too hard with your toothbrush or use a toothbrush that has hard bristles.
-If your toothbrush has been left out and is potentially vulnerable to germs and bacteria, do not place it back in your mouth. Instead, get a new toothbrush.
-Brush all chewing surfaces of teeth including the outer, inner and top of each tooth.
